Hors la Loi II

In The Stengen 2011
Unfortunately, at the age of 16, the eventful life of the stallion Hors la Loi II came to an end. The French-bred chestnut has performed in international sport for many years, but appears to distinguish himself mainly as a top sire. From a relatively small number of coverings, a lot of offspring stand out very positively, such as Untouchable, Vocas, and the showjumping horse Verdi III, which we bred at the highest level. He is also the father of future talents such as Kadans Webster SFN, Woodstock O, and Harley 86. In addition to many highlights, the life of Hors la Loi II was also characterized by setbacks, such as lagging interest from the breeders and various rider changes. But he is now proving that quality always comes to the fore in breeding.

Hors la Loi II saw the light of day on April 9, 1995 by the breeder P. Boureau from Ste Marguerite d'Elle in France. He is a son of the top sire Papillon Rouge (s. Jalisco B) out of the mare Ariane du Plessis II (Joyau d'Or out of Bourrée s.Nickel x). He therefore comes from a leading French breeding family from which many international sport horses and approved stallions have already emerged.

Lots of aptitude
Joop van Uytert saw the stallion for the first time at the age of 3.5 years, “I was at Jan de Graaf together with Joop Aaldering, and he had Hors la Loi II. He let him jump in freedom and that immediately seemed very promising. In combination with his very good pedigree, Joop and I were very interested and we became co-owners”, the stallion owner from Heerewaarden looks back. In the autumn, the chestnut stallion was presented to the KWPN, after which he was quickly selected for the second viewing. In Den Bosch he again showed positive results and followed an indication for the KWPN performance test. Prior to the examination, he was described as a stallion with a lot of impulsion and jumps with an excellent body use. He jumped very careful every time and with a lot of power. The canter was described as diligent and with good impulsion. His well-formed and strongly muscled back, loin, and croup were mentioned as a striking exterior characteristic. In the performance test in the spring of 1999, Hors la Loi II also stood out with his jumping qualities. All this was translated into the following jumping figures: print 9.0, technique 8.0, power 9.0, and talent for jumping 9.0. For his canter he received an 8.5. With a subtotal of 35 points he had the best score of the jumping stallions.
