4 stallions KWPN-approved
With four registered stallions, the dressage class of the 2022 KWPN Spring Test is the smallest in years. At the same time, it is a year with four stallions that deserve opportunities and of which there is a good chance that they will also get them. In front is the Performance stopper Extreme US (Escamillo x Vivaldi) from breeder Paul Schockemöhle and Joop van Uytert with 89 points.
Extreme U.S.: something special
Extreme U.S. is perhaps one of the most interesting stallions registered in recent years. The stallion showed in the final presentation that he has an extremely important dressage characteristic: resignation. Each time he went directly from the contraction back to the relaxation in walk. When the points were announced, he took a long rein past the full grandstand, then went 'on' (without going crazy) with applause for the breeders round and then returned to the relaxation. Something special for a three year old. Jury chairman Bert Rutten spoke in high tones about our stallion: “That's how we want to see them. He has a lot of 'go' and always thinks ahead, but is immediately relaxed again when the rider gives him a longer rein. He has an enormous work ethic and excellent switching ability.”
O'Toto van de Wimphof
The stallion with the second highest points (86.5 points) also belongs to Joop van Uytert (and the breeders Carla and Eelco Rienks) and that could also become a multi-decker. O'Toto van de Wimphof (Toto jr. x Riccione x Sandro Hit) moves with a lot of shoulder freedom, looseness, suppleness and foreleg. Bert Rutten "A stallion with a lot of expression in the foreleg, who already tries to collect himself and has a lot of natural switching ability."
Osaka
Powerhouse Osaka from breeder Pegasus Stables, Joop van Uytert and Bart Blaauwgeers scored 82.5 points. He always moves through the track with an awful lot of hovering moment and impulsion. “A stallion with a lot of foreleg that naturally walks upwards and has a lot of suspension and cadence”, says Bert Rutten.
