Top Dressage Tolbert
Marieke van der Putten and Jameson RS2 (by Blue Hors Zack) were in a class of their own in the Small Tour in Tolbert the past two days. On Saturday the duo unanimously won the Prix St. Georges with a total of 73.431% and on Sunday they went even further. With one of the judges already scoring almost 80%, they won the class with a total of 77.304%. "This was one of our best tests so far," says Van der Putten, who will participate with the stallion in the Small Tour at Jumping Amsterdam at the end of this month. "There were still some small things in it, but he came to me nicely in the test and I am very happy with that."
Marieke
“I didn't ride the second day any differently than the first day, I just rode it the same as always during competitions. It was quite busy with the warm-up and then he is quite a stallion, but in the test he stayed with me even more today than yesterday”, says Van der Putten. “For him it is mainly a matter of making kilometers and feeling comfortable in the ring. He has to learn that and then the rest will come naturally.”
Highlights
Van der Putten received the highest points today for the trotting part and stretching out, which Jameson can do very well in both trot and canter, and Van der Putten also notices that the stallion is getting stronger. “He always scores well in the trot part and I also noticed, for example, that the pirouettes are getting better and better because he is getting stronger,” she explains. “He can sit more and more and he is really getting a very nice technique for it.”
Dante U.S.
For our young, just 7-year-old top stallion Dante U.S. this was his first competition in a large entourage as Top Dressage Tolbert. At the beginning of this year they made their Small Tour debut with 2 wonderful scores of 73.7% and 73.8%. In Tolbert they had some tension in their first test because of a mare that ran close to Dante U.S. but still had 69% and a 3rd place in this large and strong participantfield. On the 2nd day they showed a great test and finished in 2nd place behind Jameson RS2 with a score of 73.33%.
Diederick
“Dante U.S. is an exceptionally talented horse with a great extended trot and a canter that is very powerful. It was quite busy with the warm-up and then he still has to learn to lose the tension a bit more, but we will also ride a lot of competitions this year to get this better and better. He will only turn 7 this year, but what a talent for the future”.
